Tranmere Rovers FC hosted a SRtRC event on Wear Red Day, attended by 50 pupils from Egremont Primary School. Rovers captain and goalkeeper Scott Davies along with Rania Makhlad from the Wirral Deen Centre answered questions about racism in football and in society, and presented prizes to children chosen for having made an outstanding contribution to the event.
“We were really impressed with how our children engaged with all the activities. They enjoyed taking part and learnt a lot about what racism is and how to deal with it. Scott and Rania were brilliant. Thank you to SRtRC and TRFC for a fabulous day!” Class Teacher
Meanwhile, SRtRC also delivered education workshops on the evening of Wear Red Day for forty young people participating in Fleetwood Town Community Trust’s Premier League Kicks programme. The groups learned about how to recognise and respond to racism, and made a great contribution to the discussions and activities.
